Tom and his crew catered our 100-guest wedding in Point Reyes Station. We got SO many accolades for the paella. Super fun for the guests to see the process in action - they lined up quickly and eagerly! Service was super smooth. Tom was easy to work with and very accommodating. He has our HIGHEST recommendation!

We had Tom and his staff at Paella del Reyes cater our wedding in Elk, Ca this past weekend. It was a super windy day and we were unsure how the elements would effect the meal. Let me just say, Tom and his staff rocked EVERYTHING! Both the traditional and the vegan paella were delicious (our guests have not stopped raving about it), the staff was professional, friendly and fun and he got 170 guests through the buffet line in an instant. Leading up to the event, Toms communication was excellent and he made the entire process seem relaxed and easy. I would HIGHLY recommend Paella Del Reyes for any and all of your catering needs in the future!!!

We were planning to write you this weekend - thanks so much for your note.
Last weekend was absolutely amazing. It was a pleasure finally meeting you in person, and from start to finish, everything was just perfect. So many guests have come to us telling us how fun it was to see the paella being made, and then when it came to dinnertime, it was simply delicious! In fact, many of us enjoyed leftovers for the couple of days afterwards - each time recounting what a good experience it was.
You and your team are pros through and through, from email communications, to meeting you the day of, to finally enjoying the meal. Eva and I never had to worry about a thing. With so many moving parts in a wedding, and with so many guests, when you just feel "yeah, this is in good hands" about one element, it helps us rest easy and truly enjoy the moment.
Thanks so much for being such an integral part of the happiest day of our lives. We'll make sure to jump on yelp later today and leave a review so others can hear about our experience.
Wishing you all our best!

Tom’s paella is magic. We just used him for our son’s graduation party and everyone is still talking about he paella. It is festive, fun and absolutely delicious. Tom was a pleasure to work with and left the cooking area as clean as it was when he arrived. We can’t wait to use him again.

Amazing, beautiful fresh food–a pleasure to watch the process and even more delightful to enjoy the cuisine! We hosted a 70th birthday party for my father-in-law and all of our guests could not have been more pleased. We first experienced Tom’s paella at a friend’s birthday party at Manka’s in Inverness. We were thrilled to have the chance to taste it again & we highly recommend Tom’s Paella del Reyes! WOW! These guys catered our son’s wedding reception at Tomales Town Hall, and it was all so wonderful I don’t know where to begin!. Tom and his sidekick Kate, plus their helpers, were super easy to deal with: friendly, efficient, professional, sensitive to our needs, all totally non-stressful (150+ people no problem), and fun. The preparation and presentation of the very authentic paella was a performance in itself, and the side dishes were perfectly matched, even adding a vegan paella which was absolutely delicious. They didn’t skimp on quantity or quality of ingredients, the seasonings were perfect, and the result was a superb meal. Our guests enjoyed every last bit of it, and there was more than enough of everything. A number of them said it was the best wedding meal they had ever had. Raves! Oh, yum!!!

WOW! Ever plan your own wedding? How tough could it be right? We had everything figured out. What about rehearsal dinner? How many do you have? WHAT? That makes 100 guests between the two of us. What’s our budget? WHAT? Can we do a picnic? Can we class up a picnic a little? How about Paella on the banks of the River?
My wife and I had been to several paella events in the West Sonoma area over the previous year (most from another cook in the area and one from Paella del Reyes). The show and the quality of food from Paella del Reyes was far better and would suit our guests perfectly. We simply wanted a great meal and experience for our family and friends. Enter Paella del Reyes and Tom Meckfessel. We got far more than what we had hoped when Tom and crew fired up two wood burning pits and two large pans filled with saffron rice, chicken, sausage, seafood, peppers, artichokes, asparagus and olives.
Mingling with our guests was easy as most hovered around the chefs working their magic. We awed at the process from the first drop of oil in the pans to the last scoop of paella dished out several hours later. Each ingredient was carefully placed into the pans by Tom as if he was working from a blank canvas towards a work of art. As any good chef knows, you eat with your eyes first. And my guests were treated to the best show and rehearsal dinner fare that I could have ever hoped for. Technically speaking, the paella was perfect. A mélange of rich and spicy flavors, perfectly crisped soccarat, and perfectly cooked ingredients. We served very little else and to a guest, everyone raved about the fare. The rehearsal dinner was one of the top highlights of our wedding weekend (just after exchanging our vows).
While on the honeymoon the inevitable question came up… “would we have changed anything?” We both agreed, Paella for the wedding instead of just for the rehearsal dinner.
Since that day, several friends have purchased small paella kits for themselves and as gifts for each other. There have been a handful of paella parties amongst our group but none has come close to the spectacle and gastronomic delight of Meckfessel’s Paella del Reyes.
I cannot sing the praises of Paella del Reyes enough. Tom Meckfessel made our rehearsal dinner special and spectacular. My recommendation… add Paella del Reyes to your party if you want an extraordinary event. We certainly will.

I was invited to a party in Point Reyes where Tom Meckfessel of Paella del Reyes and his mobile one man paella extravaganza were set up and cooking away. Now I’ve had yummy paella all over the globe, but as far as I’m concerned, it just does not get any better. Tom is all about wood fired paella and he’s got a 36″ pan for his mobile wood fired paella grill. Anyway, it was pretty cool to be able to hang out at the grill with the chef drinking malbec from the porrón, while my girlfriend was chatting away inside. I helped Tom drop the pan down a couple levels so he could get the sacarat on the bottom of the rice just perfect (and it was).
I was one of about thirty people at the party and each and everyone of had nothing but great things to say about our dinner. The clams, shrimp, chicken and spanish chorizo we’re all perfect. He didn’t skimp on the saffron. There was plenty of paella and even after I had thirds, I snagged a zip lock bag from the kitchen and stole away with some more at the end of the night.
This was the best dinner party dinner I’ve ever had. My girlfriend and I have already hired Tom for the rehearsal dinner for our wedding in Glen Ellen.
